Conflict for the invisible man
To day in class we discussed different types of conflicts: man vs. man, man vs. nature, man vs. self, man vs. god/fate, and man vs. society. in the book that i am reading The Invisible Man some of the conflicts that i have been able to find is man vs. self, man vs. society, and man vs. nature. the main character in the story Griffin he is dealing with a lot of issues with him self. I consider him to be someone who is a complete genius and a fool for coming with a way to make yourself invisible, and stupid for not creating an antidote. from reading the book, being invisible has lead Griffin into madness and being driven into murder. That is what i mean when i say man vs. self. being invisible has lead him to having anger issues, confusion, and having multiple personalities. He could be dangerous at one time, and clam the next minute. The second conflict that i found in the story was man vs. society. Because, the main character is invisible the conflict in this book is for the Griffin to be excepted by society. The final conflict presented in the book was man vs. nature. Griffin in this story is not facing nature as animals or surviving a forest, instead he is dealing with materials from nature. I would call this man vs. science; because, Griffin was able to use some chemicals to turn himself invisible, and was left with a course of not coming up with an antidote to the formula. The reason why i believe that this is man vs. nature is because the chemicals that were used came form nature, its science.
